What Is a Mini Bernedoodle?
A Mini Bernedoodle is a hybrid cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Miniature Poodle. The cross combines the Bernese Mountain Dog’s gentle, affectionate temperament with the Poodle’s intelligence and lower-shedding coat. It’s the same hybrid approach behind our Mini Goldendoodles, just with a Bernese Mountain Dog in place of the Golden Retriever.
Like our Goldendoodles, our Mini Bernedoodles are produced using non-surgical trans-cervical artificial insemination, and we avoid multi-generation breeding to better predict which traits our puppies will inherit.
The Country Mini Doodle Farms Difference
Not every breeder marketing “Mini” or “Toy” Bernedoodles does it the same way. Here’s how Country Mini Doodle Farms is different:
- TRUE Mini Bernedoodles: All our puppies are bred using non-surgical trans-cervical artificial insemination, which is the only way to get a True Mini Bernedoodle. Our F1 Mini litters require artificial insemination because of the size difference between our Bernese Mountain Dog and Miniature Poodle parents. It’s the only reliable way to produce a true Mini or Toy, not just a smaller dog from an unplanned pairing.
- Experienced Breeders since 2005: Country Mini Doodle Farms is one of the earliest Mini doodle breeders in the US, with two decades behind every litter.
- DNA Health and Trait Testing: Every parent dog is DNA tested for health and trait markers by Embark before being bred.
- Inspected Facilities: Our breeding facilities are inspected at least once a year by County Animal Services.
- Raised On a Family Farm: All of our parent dogs live on our farm in Summerfield, FL, and every puppy is raised here too.
- 2-year Genetic Health Guarantee: Every puppy goes home with a 2-year health guarantee against genetic issues, with a 1-year extension if you keep the puppy on NuVet Plus immune system builder. Should something arise during the guarantee period, we will cover the cost of treatment up to the price of the puppy.

Our F1 Mini Bernedoodles are a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Miniature Poodle. These puppies typically weigh 27 – 40 lbs full grown and come in a range of coat patterns, including:
- bicolor black and white
- bicolor black and tan
- merle (a marbled pattern)
- black tricolor (tan, white, and black)
- merle tricolor (tan, white, and merle)

No Bernedoodle is 100% hypoallergenic, but the Poodle genetics in the cross typically mean less shedding and dander than a purebred Bernese Mountain Dog, which many allergy-sensitive families find more manageable.
Not currently. Right now we only have F1 Mini Bernedoodles. We don’t yet have moms that produce F1B Minis or F1B Toys.
No, we avoid multi-generation breeding with our Bernedoodles for the same reason we do with our Goldendoodles: there’s no reliable way to predict which parent’s traits a multi-generation litter will inherit.
Both are Miniature Poodle crosses bred for a smaller size and lower-shedding coat.
